Description
Oakleigh is a house dating from the mid-18th century, with alterations made in the mid-19th century. It is constructed of brick with stone dressings and features a machine-tiled two-span roof with gable-end parapets and stacks. The building has two storeys and an attic with dormers, and it displays a cogged eaves cornice.
The house has three bays, with the outer bays on the ground floor featuring 19th-century canted bay windows that have moulded cornices and casements. On the first floor, there are three 12-pane sash windows, each with rusticated lintels, large keyblocks, and aprons. The three hipped-roofed dormers contain 6-pane windows. The central entrance is highlighted by a 19th-century square rendered porch with a parapet above a moulded cornice. The doorway is flanked by Doric columns and includes a 6-panelled door with a moulded architrave. Additionally, there is a round-headed light in each side elevation and attic lights in the front range. The interior has not been inspected, and there are mid-20th century additions to the side elevations.
