4/12 Barn at The Homestead

Barn. Dated 1686. Brick with asbestos roof. Single storey. To east a gabled transept entrance with double timber doors. Gable above is carried on kneelers and displays brick tumbling. To right and left of transept are lean- to outshuts of brick under pantiled roofs, all late C18 additions. Gabled main roof. West elevation pierced by slit ventilation lights at intervals. Western roof slope has 4 glazed panels. Tumbling in north and south gable heads, both rebuilt C19. South gable bears tie irons in form of numerals : 1 6 8 6. Interior not accessible at time of re-survey. The Homestead is not listed.
