Description

Grange Farmhouse is a farmhouse dated 1741, constructed of roughcast brick that has been whitewashed. It features a roof made of black glazed pantiles and consists of two sections. The northern end is two storeys high with a dormer attic and has three bays. There is a central half-glazed door set behind a trellis porch. On either side of the door are replaced sash windows with glazing bars, which are positioned under segmental heads. The first floor has two sash windows with glazing bars and a small central casement window. The eaves cornice is dentilated, and the roof is bell-based with two sloping dormers that contain casement windows. The internal end stacks have been rebuilt, and the north gable features a platband with the brick numerals 1741. The southern block is one storey with a dormer attic, displaying mixed 20th-century fenestration on the ground floor and a 20th-century brick glazed flat porch. It has a gabled roof with two sloping dormers that also contain casement windows, and an internal south gable stack. The interiors are largely from the 20th century, including one chamfered and tongue-stopped bridging beam. The roof of the northern block has two tiers of butt purlins and collars.
