Description

Rose Villa is a semi-detached house dating from the early 19th century. It is two stories tall and constructed of red brick, with some areas rendered and color-washed. The roof is covered with black pantiles. The main facade of the original house features five bays, with sash windows set beneath gauged brick segmental arches. There is a timber doorcase with consoles and a six-panel part-glazed door. The house has brackets at the eaves, gable chimney stacks, and end parapet gables. The rear of the property is rendered and includes a 20th-century extension. A later addition that is part of Fern Cottage is not considered of special interest. There is a red brick wall adjoining the High Street, topped with wrought iron railings.
