Description
Dudwick Cottage is a house that possibly dates back to the 17th century, with alterations from the 18th century and a 19th-century block added to the north, creating a double pile structure. The building is constructed from limewashed brick and flint, with red brick dressings at the south-west corner. It features pantiled roofs, hipped over the 19th-century range. The cottage is two storeys high with attics, while the later range is two storeys.
The windows include two and three light casements with leaded glazing and Gothick heads. There is an off-centre doorway that has a later gabled porch. The chimney stacks are positioned off-centre and at the west gable. The gables are parapeted with brick tumbling and a plain string course. A flat-roofed dormer with a Gothick casement is present, along with a pantiled two-storey lean-to at the east gable. The eaves have brick dentils, and there is a catslide extension on the north side. The 19th-century range to the north-west features three light casement windows with rubbed arches over the openings. A bay window with a lead roof is located in the west wall, with a sash window above it. The eaves are adorned with moulded brick modillions, and there are some 20th-century casements.
Inside, there is one beam with stepped run-out chamfers, and a simple 18th-century staircase with turned newels and plain balusters.
