Description

Rippon Hall is a manor house that primarily dates from the Victorian era but has a core that originates from the late 16th century. It is constructed of red brick with a slate roof and features an asymmetrical 'U'-shaped plan over two storeys, some of which have attics. The entrance facade is located on the east side, with a central courtyard that opens to the west. The south wing is double-piled over its eastern half and contains one wing of the 16th-century manor, including the roof structure at the eastern end, beneath a 19th-century remodelling.

The architectural style is mainly Neo-Tudor, with the east gable showcasing 16th-century brickwork. Notable features include 19th-century stone mullion and transom windows, a plinth, a moulded string course, an eaves string course, polygonal buttresses with brick finials, and parapet gables with brick or stone kneelers and brick finials. There is a canted bay window with a moulded brick parapet at storey height. The entrance porch, located off-centre on the east elevation, is two storeys tall and features polygonal buttresses and finials. To the north of the porch are additional stone mullion and transom windows and two parapet gables. The chimney stacks are 19th-century Neo-Tudor with clustered shafts. Inside, the interior is mainly from the 19th century, but the 16th-century roof features jointed crucks, principal rafters, purlins, and wind bracing.
