Rectory, 1788 for the Reverend J. Alderson. Red brick with black pantiled roof. 'L'-shaped plan of 2 storeys, with canted bay to'left of west elevation. Extended in late C19 to east, forming double pile east wing and further east wing. Single storey to north and first floor extension over loggia, to east of north wing. Facade to road, originally 3 windows, with flat gauged brick arches, and sash windows with glazing bars. Inserted C19 sash windows on ground floor left, and in bay window. First floor side windows in bay, blocked. Off centre, part glazed entrance door with timber door case with Tuscan pilasters, open pediment and semi-circular fanlight with glazing bars. Gault brick modillion eaves, hipped roofs and axial stacks. C19 cast iron pergola attached to southern end of west elevation. A History of Hevingham Cannon A. F. Marsham.
