Description

Pound Farmhouse, built in 1675, is a two-storey building with an 'L'-shaped plan, constructed of colourwashed brick, red brick, and smut pantiles. The front wing has attics and features a facade with four windows and a central entrance door that has six raised and fielded panels. The door case is adorned with fluted pilasters, paterae stops, and a fluted frieze beneath a moulded cornice. The farmhouse has a brick plinth, a moulded plat band, and a central shallow projection formed by moulded brick pilasters, which includes a plaque inscribed with "W.I.A. 1675."

There is evidence of earlier window openings in the facade, which currently has two 19th-century sash windows with glazing bars and flat gauged brick arches on the ground floor, and four 19th-century sash windows with glazing bars on the first floor. The building features clasped brick pilasters at the corners with moulded brick capitals, moulded brick eaves, and moulded plat bands at the attic floor level on curved gables that have internal end stacks.

The rear wing has a plinth and 20th-century casement windows with segmental brick arches, corbelled brick eaves, moulded brick kneelers, and parapet gables, each with a blocked oculus. Attached to the southeast and southwest are garden walls from 1675, which include a plinth, shallow piers, and modillions that support brick coping, with plain coping on the southwest side.
