Description
Rippon Manor Farm House and Attached Barn is an early 18th-century farmhouse made of red brick with a slate roof. The house features a three-cell Lobby Entrance design, with two storeys and attics. It has 19th-century casement windows, which have segmental brick arches on the ground floor and flat arches on the first floor. The entrance is off centre, with panelled double doors. There is a parapet gable on the north side, which includes a plat band at attic floor level and an internal stack. A wedge dormer with a 19th-century casement window is also present. Inside, the house retains mainly 18th-century two-panel doors and a 17th-century oak panelled door with Cocks Head hinges leading to the attic stairs. The first-floor bedroom features a lugged fire surround. The roof structure is a butt purlin design. The barn to the south is not of special interest. A date plaque inscribed "R.M. 1844" indicates a restoration.
