Description
No. 42 Magdalen Street is a house, originally two houses, built in the early 19th century. It features a façade of cut flint with gault brick dressings, topped by a roof made of black-glazed pantiles. The building has two storeys. The ground floor was originally designed with two central doors and a 6/6 unhorned sash window on either side, all set beneath segmental heads. The left-hand door has been replaced with a 6/6 sash window from the 20th century. On the first floor, there are two mid-20th century casement windows. The building is finished with a dentil eaves cornice below a gabled roof and has internal gable-end stacks. The interior has not been inspected. This property is included for its group value with other nearby buildings.
