Description
16 and 20 Magdalen Street are a pair of houses, built in the mid-18th century. They are constructed from whitewashed flint with gault brick dressings and feature a pantile roof. The buildings are two storeys high. On the ground floor, there are two late 20th-century doors set under segmental arches. To the left of the door at No. 20, there are two late 20th-century 6/6 sash windows, while No. 16 has a 20th-century tripartite sash window to the right of its door, in a space that was previously a shop front. Between the doors, there is a sash window without glazing bars. The first floor has three 2-light casement windows, all under segmental heads. The gabled roof has high side parapets that suggest it may have originally been thatched. There are internal gable-end stacks and a central ridge stack. The south-west gable head features some great brick. The interior has not been inspected.
