Description
31 Magdalen Street is a house that has been converted into four flats. It dates from the mid-18th century and is constructed of yellow brick with red brick detailing. The building has a slate roof and stands three storeys high with three bays. At each end of the elevation, there are red brick pilasters with roll-moulded plinths. The central entrance features a half-glazed door from the late 20th century, flanked by canted bay windows on either side, which were rebuilt in 1989 and fitted with 2/2 sash windows. The doorcase is adorned with pilasters, a fluted frieze, and an entablature hood. The first floor has three late 19th-century two-light casement windows, while the second floor is lit by one two-light casement window, with a blind window on either side. All the windows on the first and second floors have rendered surrounds. The building has a plain parapet that is raised in the center to form a pediment, and it features a gabled roof with internal gable-end stacks. The interior has not been inspected.
