Description

Heath Farmhouse is a farmhouse that was originally a hall house and is now divided into two properties. It dates back to the 16th century, with alterations made in the 20th century. The building is timber framed with rendered wattle and daub infill and has a roof made of pantiles, which are black glazed at the front. It has two storeys and an attic, with a 20th-century brick front featuring a parapet and central and corner pilasters. The roof is gabled, hipped to the west, and has a central ridge stack. Much of the exterior has been altered, but there are two doorways on the west front and scattered windows. The door on the right leads into the original screens passage. There are two hollow mullioned windows to the east of the north range. Inside, the framework is close studded with heavy scantling, and there are two arched doorways that are now blocked from the screens passage. A four-light hollow mullioned window looks north from the lounge into a new room, and there are remains of two further mullioned windows. The interior features tongue-stopped bridging beams and raised ceilings, with tension bracing at the corners of the first-floor rooms.
