Description
Old Farmhouse is a house dating from around 1600. It is timber framed with roughcast wattle and daub and has a thatched roof. The building has one storey and a dormer attic, with a 20th-century brick porch located to the right of the center under the thatch. There are three 18th-century casement windows on the left and one on the right, arranged irregularly. The gabled roof features two central gabled dormers, both with bargeboards and 19th-century casement windows. The house has two symmetrically placed ridge stacks.
Inside, the layout consists of four cells with thin scantling framing. The dining room contains a 17th-century inserted fireplace that includes some original brick and nogging, with tongue stops on the bridging beam. There is an arched doorway to the right of the stack that is later than the 17th century. The lounge has a similar fireplace, a chamfered bridging beam, and a blocked four-light diamond mullion window. The eastern room also features blocked mullion windows and tension bracing in the corners. The first-floor tie beams have been cut for doors.
