Description
Valhalla is a farmhouse that has been divided into two dwellings and is currently uninhabited. It dates from the late 16th century and later. The original rendered timber frame has been replaced with brick on the front and gable ends, and the brick is partly colourwashed. The roof is thatched, with a corrugated iron covering on top, supported by heightened gable parapets with separate roof trusses. The building features a vestigial screens passage plan and has one and a half storeys. The facade, which is from the 18th or early 19th century, includes five 2-light casement windows set beneath skewback arches with cambered soffits on the ground floor only. There is a boarded door likely in its original position, located next to a service partition at the northern end. An off-centre axial stack is present, along with later lean-to additions on the side and rear.
Inside, there is a service partition with surviving doorways. The first floor above the hall seems to have been repositioned or may have been inserted later. A winding stair is located beside the stack, and the roof features queen posts of light scantling.
