Description
Riverside is a farmhouse dating from the 17th century and later. It has a timber frame that is rendered, weatherboarded, and partly replaced with brick, topped by a pantile roof. The original house was a single cell with a gable-end stack. There are later additions to the sides and rear that are not of special interest. The building has two storeys with an attic and features irregular fenestration, including four modern two-light casement windows on the gutter wall. The east gable-end has an 18th-century raised and fielded panelled door, two 20th-century windows, and a modern lean-to conservatory. There is a gable-end stack on the west side. The interior includes 18th-century raised and fielded panelled doors with L hinges, a bolection moulded fireplace on the first floor with a mantel shelf, and an original roof of three bays with collars, single sets of butt-purlins, and straight wind bracing.
