Description
The Village General Stores and Off-Licence is a shop and domestic building dating from the mid-18th century. It is constructed of colourwashed brick with a pantiled roof and features a double pile plan, with the front range displaying stepped gables. The building stands two storeys high with an attic. There is a panelled door located under a flat hood to the left of centre. To the left of the door are two 18th-century sash windows with glazing bars, while to the right is a 20th-century shop front. The first floor has five similar sash windows set below a moulded string course, and a parapet that obscures three gabled dormers, which have 18th-century sashes and gables designed to resemble pediments. An internal gable stack is located on the east side.
