Description
The walls and pavilions on the south side of the Vineyard, including the Vineyard Cottages in Home Park, date from the same period as the main house. They feature red brick crenellated walls flanking a central pavilion faced with flint. The terminal square pavilions are approximately 4 metres high, with the crenellation likely dating to the early 19th century. The central cottage has a slightly projecting battlemented 'Keep', with a 4-centre arch door that has a moulded stone surround and a carved tympanum. The ground floor includes 1:2:1 lancet windows, while the upper floor features 1:3:1 quatrefoil windows, all topped with a battlemented parapet. The left pavilion (west) has a 17th-century base and early 19th-century two-storey construction in an L shape, with two 2-light Tudor arch windows with hoods and a door featuring a two-arch fan and hood. The right pavilion is from the 17th century and has large cross arrow holes on each face.
