Description
The Old Mill House Museum and Mill Green Mill is a mill and house that dates from the 17th century and earlier. The west side features a timber frame with a red brick casing, while the east side is primarily red brick from the 19th century, with some 17th-century framing. The building is a single block with lower sides and a stream running underneath. It has two storeys and plain tile roofs, which are hipped at the west end. There are two gabled attic dormers in the center, and the left side projects forward with a floor band. The west elevation includes a floor band and three small gable ends. The windows are glazing bar casements on the ground and first floors. Inside, there are chamfer stopped floor beams. The right side features recessed casements and a parapeted east gable end. The central part of the mill has two-storey plank doors and Yorkshire casements on the first floor, left of center. The mill mechanism is intact and dates from the 18th century or early 19th century.
