Description

Taylor's Mill is a mill and mill house built in the early 19th century, with later modifications in the 19th century. The mill house is constructed of red brick featuring some chequerwork patterning with flared headers. The mill itself is timber framed and clad in weatherboarding. The main roof is covered in clay tiles, while the lower part is slated.

The mill, located on the right-hand side, is two storeys high with attics, while the mill house on the left is also two storeys, with the section adjoining the mill raised to match its height. The mill house features a canted bay on the ground floor with a slate roof, a central plank door, and a small paned sash window on the right side. Above the bay, there is a similar sash window. The right part of the mill house has a first-floor band and one sash window on each floor, with larger panes and canted heads, plus a small fixed light to the right of the first-floor window. There is a flush-panel door beneath a flat bracketed hood.

The mill has beaded moulding along the lower edges of its bargeboards. It features two windows on each floor, including two sashes with glazing bars. There is one box dormer with a casement window and one plank door each on the ground and first floors. A red brick stack is located on the left gable end of the taller block.
