Description
St Ethelreda's Churchyard features early to mid-19th century walls and gate piers on the east side of the Cecil family burial ground. The gates are 18th century wrought iron, likely sourced from the garden on the south side of the Old Palace. The wall is constructed of red brick with a trellis-work upper section. The gate piers have a square plan and are adorned with stone quoins. They are topped with stepped stone and diamond-shaped finials. The double gates include scrolled side panels and an overthrow.
