Description
The gates and gatepiers to the churchyard of the Church of St. Ethelbert date from the mid-18th century and are made of ashlar stone and wrought iron. The square piers are approximately 2 meters high and feature rusticated masonry, a plain plinth, and cyma-shaped domed heads. Between the piers are double gates that have a cyma curve at the top rail. The gates feature heel and clashing styles that culminate in floriate tops, with main bars and much thinner dog-bars adorned with spear-heads. The gates are attached with a pin hinge at the bottom and a hook hinge at the top.
