Description

The Forge is a house dating from the late 17th century, with alterations in the early 18th century and early 19th century. The ground floor is built of red brick, while the first floor is also of red brick. The roof is covered with plain tiles and features internal end chimney stacks with original shafts and string courses. The house is two storeys high and has three segmental-headed windows on the front, each with 8/8-pane sashes. A 17th/18th-century outbuilding with a catslide roof is located on the south side of the rear elevation. The building was formerly listed as Reception and offices at Middleton Motors.
