Description

Barn Cottage is a former barn associated with Crossely Wylde, located on Loudwater Lane in Croxley Green. It dates from the 17th or 18th century and was altered in the 20th century. The structure features a timber frame set on a brick base, with some sections of stock brick nogging and weatherboarding. The roof is tiled and the building consists of three bays.

Prominently, there is a central gabled midstrey away from the house, with exposed framing and brick nogging above a double door leading to the garage. The building has a catslide roof over the flanking lean-tos. The right gable end facing the road showcases exposed framing with brick nogging, along with inserted windows and added stacks. Inside, there are curved braces connecting the posts to the tie beams, angled queen struts clasping the purlins, and curved windbraces.
