Description

Ackroyds Bakery is a baker's premises and house, likely dating from the 16th century. It features a timber frame and combed pargetting, topped with a plain tile roof. The building has two storeys and three gable ends facing the street, with the central gable being taller and a later addition. The outer gables have first-floor three-light glazing bar casements, which are probably from the early 19th century, while the ground floors have modern windows set in 19th-century frames. There is a 19th-century box shop window in the center, and a gabled extension at the rear that dates from the 17th or 18th century.
