Description
The front garden wall at Wheathampstead Place is a structure that dates back to the 16th century, with significant elements from the 19th century. It features a stone arch from the 16th century set within a primarily 19th-century red brick wall, which also contains some 16th-century brick in its lower courses. The wall is approximately 20 meters long and includes an arch with a flattened four-centre head surrounded by a square frame, adorned with ovolo mouldings. The wall also displays a dog-tooth dentil course and has tiled coping. There is a raised section above the gate, and a short section of 18th-century wall extends along the north side of the garden. This wall is included for its group value.
