Description
This is a late 19th-century shop, originally the Corn Mill House. It is built of mauve brick with blue brick banding at the first-floor sill level and has a slate roof. The south elevation has a canted design. A shallow projection extends from the east side. The building is two storeys high, with first-floor sash windows on the south and east sides, each featuring a stucco lintel. Decorative wooden eaves are supported by thin carved brackets with shell motifs. The shop front is in a 20th-century Georgian style. There are four chimney stacks. The building is an important feature, marking the northern end of the High Street, and contributes to the group value alongside the Corn Mill.
