Description
Tollgate Cottage is a house and offices dating from the early 17th century, with the possibility of an earlier core. The building features a painted brick and plaster front, while the south gable end showcases exposed timber framing. It has a plain tile roof with a ridge chimney stack located at the left center, which has four joined square shafts. The cottage is two storeys high; the first floor includes four 17th or 18th century mullioned casement windows with modern leading. On the ground floor, there are three 19th century sash windows and one 20th century casement. Additionally, there are two early 19th century door frames with cut brackets and a simple flat hood, with the right door being larger and featuring an original six-panel door.
