Description
Nos 71, 71A, and 73 on High Street is a house that has been converted into offices. It likely dates from the mid-16th century and was extended on the south and west sides in the 17th and 18th centuries. The building features an exposed timber frame with white-painted brick infill and is arranged in an L shape over two storeys. The main range consists of two and a half bays, with the half bay on the south being a 17th-century addition. At the northern end, there is a 16th or 17th-century red brick chimney stack with four joined shafts. The front elevation displays small casement windows on the upper floor, including a twin 17th-century leaded light, while the ground floor has a shop front. The right wing has a lighter construction. Inside, there is a moulded floor beam with a V profile and a broad inglenook. The southern bay features a beam with chamfered stops.
