Description
No 2 Luton Road is a house that likely dates from the late 17th century. It has a timber frame with 17th and 18th century red brick casing and infill, topped with a plain tile roof. The house features an internal chimney stack on the north gable end and stands two storeys tall with three bays of box framing. On the first floor, there are two flush Yorkshire casements, while the ground floor has two casements, one of which is next to the door and includes three cast iron lights. The entrance is marked by a plank door on the right, which is sheltered by a simple gabled hood. At the rear on the south side, there is a single-storey gabled extension, also timber framed. Inside, the house boasts an upper-cruck roof construction, which is unique in the county, along with straight roof braces.
