Description
No 13 Fishpool Street, sometimes referred to as "Godmersham" or "Bankart House," is a late 16th century or early 17th century building. It has three storeys and two windows, featuring a plastered front with an overhanging first floor. The roof is very high-pitched and tiled. The first and second floors display pargeted decoration with geometrical patterns framed by broad, raised borders of floral design. The windows on the first and second floors are three-light, leaded casements set in wide, flush, box frames. The ground floor windows are 18th century sashes with glazing bars, also in flush, box frames. There is a later, plain, recessed door. This building is part of a group that includes Nos 1 to 15 (odd).
