Description

The Lower Red Lion is a 17th-century building located on Fishpool Street, featuring two storeys and four windows on the first floor. The exterior is cement-faced, with a moulded wooden eaves cornice beneath a high-pitched, tiled roof. On the first floor, there are some cast iron casements alongside some restored leaded casements. The ground floor has three modern doors alternating with three renewed windows, and there is a carriageway to the right. The rear elevation displays two steep gables. The Lower Red Lion is part of a group that includes Nos 24 to 46 (even) and Nos 50 to 54 (even).
