Description
No 20 Lower Luton Road is a house built in 1840, as indicated by the date on the chimney stack. It is constructed from yellow gault brick and features stuccoed window lintels. The roof is hipped and covered with slate. The building has two storeys above a cellar.
The front facade includes two recessed sash windows on either side of a blank central window. The entrance door, located beneath the central window, has two long panels and is framed by a wooden surround with panelled reveals and slender Tuscan pilasters. A moulded cornice and flat hood complete the entrance.
On the west elevation, there are three similar windows and a one-window extension from around 1920. The interior is well-preserved, featuring moulded frames and fittings, as well as simple Tuscan-style fire surrounds.
