3/40 Wandon End Farmhouse

Farmhouse. C16 crosswing, hall range altered in C17, E range and brick facing to S side of crosswing early C18, altered in C19. Timber frame roughcast, red brick to ground floor, C18 wing and S front. Steep old red tile roofs. A 2-storeys L-shaped house formerly facing E with taller gabled S wing extending to rear and short hall-range with rear outshut under catslide extension of roof. New entrance front created on S side of crosswing when 2-storeys hipped brick wing was built against the E front obscuring the crosswing and half of the hall-range. This has on its E side a tall wallhead chimney of 2 linked square shafts and a large stair window to right. Flush casement windows generally but C19 sash windows with 2/2 panes to S front. Large internal chimney at junction of hall range with crosswing, and a large external N side chimney to W part of crosswing.
