Description
Olde Farmhouse is a farmhouse that likely dates back to the 17th century, with later additions and alterations. It features a pebbledashed timber-frame and painted brick construction, topped with graded slate roofs that have raised verges at the rear gable end of the cross wing and the short range. The building has a basic L-plan layout, consisting of a hall range with two and a half framed bays and a two or three-bay gabled cross-wing that projects to the left. There is also a short gabled range running parallel to the hall range at the front angle. The farmhouse is one storey with an attic.
The front gable of the cross-wing has late 20th-century casement windows, while the left side features an 18th-century gabled brick porch with raised verges and a 20th-century panelled door. Above it, there is a red brick ridge stack with dentilled capping that forms a baffle entry. The hall range includes a timber-framed gabled eaves dormer and two 20th-century casements on the ground floor, along with an integral end stack. The short range has an early 20th-century canted bay window and a contemporary hip-roofed eaves dormer to the right, as well as an external end stack. There is an outshut at the rear of the hall range.
The interior was not inspected during the last survey in November 1986, but it is likely to be of interest.
