4/63 Manor Farmhouse - (formerly listed as The Manor House) 1.12.51 GV II

Farmhouse. C17 with later additions and alterations. Timber framed with plaster and painted brick infill, slate roof. L-plan with hall range apparently of 3 framed bays to right and cross-wing projecting to left. 2 storeys. Framing: mostly planted to front, 4 square panels from cill to wall-plate to hall range and 3 rectangular panels to cross- wing; rear gable of cross-wing has 4 square panels from cill to tie beam with 3 vertical struts to collar, which has V-struts; rear wall of hall range has 2 square panels above girding beam but rebuilt in brick beneath. Late C20 fenestration: one casement on each floor to front gable of cross-wing and 2 on each floor to hall range. South- west front of cross-wing rebuilt in mid-C19 red brick; central entrance with plain pilastered doorcase, bracketed hood and late C20 half-glazed door; late C20 casements to left and right with C19 segmental heads; red brick ridge stack immediately to right of entrance. Prominent external lateral red brick stack to rear of hall range with C19 painted rubblestone lean-to abutting. Interior: inspection not possible at time of resurvey (November 1985) but likely to be of interest.
