Description
The ice house, located at the National Grid Reference SJ 3693 2555, is likely from the late 18th century or early 19th century. It features roughly coursed limestone rubble at the front and red brick in the tunnel and chamber. A short tunnel, accessed through a segmental-headed arch, leads into an egg-shaped cavity. The entire structure is topped with an earth mound.
