Description

SANDON LYE END TL 33 SW 7/68 Lye End Farm House II House. Late C15 or early C16, floored, heated and extended in C17, extended C19, altered C20. Timber frame, rendered. Tiled roof. Originally a 2 bay open hall, extended by 2 bays with lobby entry to left, C19 additions to right and to rear. 2 storeys. Projecting porch in bay to left of original building, half glazed door in reveal. 2 light flush frame casement windows, a single light over entrance. Stack in entrance bay, behind ridge, 4 diagonal flues. Second entrance in left end. 2 bays added to right with C20 casements, a slightly lower ridge, right end stack. To rear a slightly lower half hipped wing. Lean-to to rear of C19 block under a catslide roof. Interior: large scantling to frame in early bays, stop chamfered binding beam, chamfered jowled posts and cambered tie beams. Curved tension braces.
