Description
Wood Farm House is a house dating from the late 16th century, with alterations and extensions made in the 18th and 20th centuries. It features a timber frame that is rendered, and has a machine tiled roof. The layout includes a lobby entry, three cells, and four bays, with one storey and an attic. The entrance is located to the left of the centre and is accompanied by a later gabled porch.
On the ground floor to the left, there is a small canted bay window, while to the right are two flush frame three-light casements; one of these has a timber transom and the other has leaded lights. The house has three 20th-century gabled dormers, each with three leaded lights. At the rear of the entrance, there is an axial red brick stack, and to the right end, there is a later stock brick external stack situated in a narrower and lower 18th-century outshut, which has an old tiled roof and double doors at the front, along with casements in the gable end that reveal exposed purlins. The left end also shows exposed purlins and features an outshut with a hipped roof. At the rear, there is a broad 20th-century gabled wing. The house is located on a partially moated site.
