Description
This building consists of a barn and shed, dating from the 17th century, located about 30 meters north of Queenbury. The structure features a timber frame resting on a brick base and is weatherboarded. It has a steeply pitched half-hipped thatched roof, with corrugated sheeting at the rear. The barn comprises five bays and includes a single aisle at the back, with central double doors. Inside, the frame has large scantling, jowled posts with arched braces supporting the tie beams and arcade plates. The roof includes collars clasping purlins and curved windbraces, with tension braces in the walling. Attached to the left end of the barn, extending towards the road and house, is a low 18th or 19th-century cow shed that has five open bays and a thatched roof, with flint and brick at the ends.
