Description
This is a 17th-century aisled barn and shed located about 40 metres southwest of Bury Farm House in Nuthampstead. The structure features a timber frame set on a brick base and is weatherboarded. It has a steeply pitched roof made of corrugated sheet material and consists of five bays. There is a short gabled midstrey over the central bay that leads to the yard, with a second door located to the right and a central door at the rear. Inside, there are braces connecting the jowled arcade posts to the tie beams and arcade plates on both sides, along with queen posts that support collars clasping the purlins. Attached to the end of the barn away from the house is a low 19th-century shed, which is open at the rear and features braces and a hipped slate roof.
