TL 10 SE RIDGE COURSERS ROAD (North side) Ridge

3/243 Stable Block and Kitchen Garden Wall to E of Tyttenhanger House

GV II

Formerly stables, now used for storage. C17, part rebuilt, altered and extended C18 and C19. Red brick, tiled roofs. Original range in English bond with a continuous plat band and scattered openings, some with segmental heads. Roof hipped to left. Attached to left return angle a C19 2 storey square block with a steeply pitched pyramidal roof, cast iron glazing bar casements, rubbed brick heads. Attached to right an C18 wing projects forward, timber mullion and transom windows with flat arched heads. Plinth. Hip to front. Ridge stack. Further right a lower C19 range of stabling forming 3 sides of a courtyard. Scattered openings. Hipped roof. A ramped wall with 2 octagonal cast iron piers flanking entrance to front. Attached to rear of C17 range is C18 kitchen garden wall of 3 long sides returning to right. 2 to 3m in height. Included for group value.
