Description
The war memorial located in St Mary's churchyard, approximately 70 meters east of the church in Aston village, was erected around 1919. It is made of limestone and features a tall standing cross on a square plinth, which sits on a hexagonal base with three high steps. The cross shaft is tapered and has moulded panelled faces, with necking and a four-lobed capital topped by a chamfered cross. The wheel-head of the cross has expanded ends on its arms. The moulded base includes raised lettering, with names inscribed around the two upper steps.
