Description
Nos. 4 and 6 on Stringers Lane in Aston village are a barn and stable that have been converted into commercial premises. The barn dates from the 18th century, while the stable is older. Both structures are timber-framed and covered in dark weatherboarding. The barn has a roof made of red tiles, while the stable features a steeply pitched slate roof. The tall barn faces north and has 20th-century part-glazed doors replacing the original double doors. There are also casement windows and a door leading into the former stable. Inside the barn, there is a side purlin roof. This picturesque group of buildings is located in the center of the village and was part of the former Aston Park Farm, included for its group value.
