Description

This building, originally a single house from the 15th century, has been divided into two houses. The eastern part was altered in the 17th or 18th century, and the division into two houses occurred in the later 20th century. It features a timber frame set on a black stucco sill, with roughcast walls and steep old red tile roofs. The structure is two storeys high and follows a three-cell layout, with an internal chimney located on the party wall.

The southern front has three windows on each floor, with two gabled porches in between. The first-floor windows are tall, two-light, softwood casements with small panes, while the ground floor features flush box sash windows with eight-over-eight panes and dripboards.

Inside the western part (No. 1), there are two bays from the original 15th-century house, which may have been jettied at one time. The roof is a crown-post design with an octagonal post and pyramidal stops, raised on a chamfered tie-beam that has slots for two arched braces from the jowled posts. The wallplate has an edge-halved scarf joint with bridled butts. Heavy flat floor joists are supported by a substantial chamfered axial beam with pyramidal stops, which is carried on a bracket on the bay posts. The older internal chimney features a wide fireplace with two cusped-headed recesses in the back. The eastern part is likely situated on the site of a former crosswing.
