Description
A row of four cottages, dating from the 18th century and remodelled in the early 19th century. The cottages are timber-framed with black weatherboarding on the upper parts, while the ground floor is cased in stock brick, which is painted at number 52. They have steep, old red tile hipped roofs. The row is set at right angles to the road, facing south, with the exception of number 52, which has its door and windows facing west. Two large shared chimneys are visible on the front roof slope, and have been rebuilt in stock brick. The upper floor has small, two-light casement windows. The ground floor windows are Yorkshire sliding casements, set under segmental arches, with plank doors and small cusped canopies supported by shaped brackets. Number 52 has two windows on each floor, all casements.
