Description

This is a group of houses, originally one house, now divided into four, dating from the early 18th century, with extensions and alterations made in the mid 19th century. The building is constructed of red brick with a steep roof covered in old red tiles, and features two brick chimneys. Later mid-19th century extensions at the rear have hip roofs. The original house faces west and is six windows wide, with a one-window extension matching the style at the north end. It has two stories and attics. The windows are tall and narrow, with flush casements and top lights, set under flat, gauged arches. Recessed paved entrances are served by two round-arched doorways between the first and second windows from each end. A doorway in line with a chimney suggests the house originally had a three-unit plan with a lobby entrance. Four flat-topped dormers are set into the front roof slope.
