Description
No. 19 Amwell End is a house that has been converted into commercial premises. It features an 18th-century front that is attached to an earlier building, with 20th-century alterations. The exterior is finished in stucco, with a plat band at the second floor level and a moulded cornice. A parapet partly conceals a corrugated asbestos roof. The building stands three storeys high and has two sash windows on the first floor, which have divided glazing and horns. The second floor also has two sash windows, but these have small panes. All windows are recessed with concealed boxes within stucco reveals. The ground floor has a modern shopfront. The property shares carriageway access to the rear with the adjoining No. 25. It is included for its group value. There is a long rear outshoot, built in the mid-20th century, made of red brick with a flat roof, which is not of special interest.
