Description
This building in Ware town comprises a house, later adapted for commercial use. It dates to the 17th century and was altered in the 19th century. The front is rendered with stucco over timber framing on the first floor and brick on the ground floor. It has an old tiled roof with a truncated central brick chimney stack. The building is two storeys high. The first floor has two flush-set sash windows with exposed window boxes and small panes of glass. The ground floor features a 19th-century shopfront with ornamental consoles and a moulded fascia. To the left is a later blind box above a closed three-light window with moulded glazing bars. The central window is plain glazed, with a door set beneath a flat hood raised on cut brackets to the right.
