Description

This is a 17th-century house, later adapted for commercial use, with an 18th-century facade applied to the original timber-frame structure. The building is timber-framed and has a stuccoed front. The roof is tiled, with a gambrel shape and three box dormers containing sash windows, alongside brick chimneys.

The house is two storeys high with attics. The first floor has four flush-set sash windows, with exposed window boxes and small panes of glass. The ground floor features a central door with an architrave surround and a pedimented hood supported by console brackets. To the left and right of the central door are two modern windows with glazing bars. A secondary door is located on the left-hand side, also with a flat hood on console brackets. A carriageway is positioned on the right, with twin battened doors, one incorporating a wicket, originally providing access to 45, Chadwell Lodge. A small outshoot is located on the left side and to the rear, featuring plastered walls and pantiled roofs.
